Every year at the beginning of Spring, I find myself yearning for a quick weekend getaway as a little break from regular life. It’s the time of year where we’re in between seasons and holidays. We’re not approaching Thanksgiving or Christmas, we’ve still got a few more months before we get any warm and sunny vacation weather, but it’s been a few months since we’ve gotten a nice break from the monotony. Luckily Greenville is perfectly located within a short drive of several amazing cities that are perfect for a weekend away. Here is a list of three great spots for a weekend away that are close to Greenville!

Asheville is only one hour outside of Greenville and offers many amazing attractions if you’re looking for something close that still provides a new view. There are so many Air BnBs in this area that are great to book with a friend or significant other. If you like art and history, the Biltmore Estate is a perfect spot to explore and see one of the many traveling art exhibits that stops there. If you love the great outdoors this is also the perfect spot for you, as Asheville sits in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Cashiers is another perfect mountain getaway, with gorgeous views of the highlands and adorable, quaint small towns, there’s really not much more you could ask for. This area offers some of the most incredible hikes you can imagine. One of my all time favorites is Whiteside Mountain. This hike is intermediate level and offers unbelievable views from its summit. There are multiple spots you can stop to drink in the scenery and take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty of the Carolinas.

A city that really needs no introduction, Charleston is full of rich historical landmarks and stunning natural beauty. In only 3 hours you can be by the seaside with a drink in your hand, or you can be exploring the streets of this titan of American history. Take a midnight haunted tour with your friends, or go to one of many restaurants that serve some of the best seafood in the country. Top it off by staying in one of the beautiful historic hotels in the city center or near the battery.
