This week marks the height of Greenville’s vibrant fall foliage, which means you’re probably looking for a way to enjoy the beautiful scenery this weekend. There are so many beautiful spots that are either in Greenville or just a short drive away, so I decided to compile a short list here:

Paris Mountain State Park

If you’re wanting to experience the leaves while going on an easy hike? Paris Mountain is the place for you. Paris Mountain contains a whole host of different hiking trails that are perfect for all skill levels. One of my personal favorites is the Sassafras Loop Trail, which is perfect for intermediate hikers who want to be surrounded by beautiful trees!

Bald Rock

While I love a good hike, there are times where I crave seeing the beauty of nature without having to get in a workout. This is what makes Bald Rock an excellent place to visit in the fall. It’s just a short drive and requires no hiking to get to the overlook. This the perfect spot for a date or just a picnic with friends that you can enjoy alongside the gorgeous views of the upstate.

Pretty Place Chapel

While Pretty Place Chapel is a little bit farther off the beaten path, it is totally worth the trip for the jaw dropping scenery that you will experience both on the way and at the chapel. You can’t help but feel moved by the stunning view of the upstate hills framed by wooden chapel walls with the verse, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills” draped above the scene. Anyone who lives in Greenville needs to see this place in the fall just once.

Furman University

I know, I know, I’m biased because I went to Furman, but regardless I know I’m right about this one. Furman is one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country. The whole campus is surrounded by lush foliage that absolutely explodes with color in the fall. No doubt about it, this is the perfect place to go if you want to take a short walk and take in some natural beauty.
